羽衣国際大学とアイルランドのグリフィス大学（Griffith College）との間で交換留学協定が締結されました。
グリフィス大学はアイルランドのダブリン、コーク、リムリックに4つのキャンパスを有するアイルランドでも有数の名門私立大学です。
6月17日（火）、グリフィス大学より国際交流部門の責任者のKevin Geoghegan氏、Creative Arts & Screen Media学部長のTanya Doyle先生、国際交流部門学生交流責任者のMichael Stewart氏、両校の架け橋となっていただいた元アイルランド政府商務庁職員のJonathan Kelly氏が本学を訪問しました。
本学からは中川学長、石川副学長、森本現代社会学部長、梨木人間生活学部長、吉村事務局長、早岡放送・メディア映像学科長、田渕国際交流委員長、清水共通教育開発センター長が調印式に臨みました。
調印式は清水センター長の司会で行われ、中川学長より「さまざまな不和、衝突が発生する世界の中で、若い人が文化、言語の違いを越えて理解しあう交流が今こそ必要」と本協定への期待が述べられると、Geoghegan氏からは「本協定はまさにそのような交流を具体化するものであり、両校の連携協力の発展の礎となるものだ。現在羽衣国際大学で進行中のグリフィス大学の学生による映像制作プロジェクトはその先駆けだ」と応じました。
交換留学協定が結ばれたことにより、今後両校の間で経済的負担が少ない形での交換留学が可能となります。
両校の架け橋となっていただいたJonathan Kelly氏などアイルランド関係者の皆様に厚くお礼申し上げます。
今後も羽衣国際大学では、国際交流と地域連携による学生の成長に注力してまいります。

Signing of Study Abroad Agreement with Griffith College, Ireland
Hagoromo University of International Studies(HUIS) has signed a student exchange agreement with Griffith College, Ireland.
Griffith College is one of Ireland’s leading private institutions, with four campuses located in Dublin, Cork, and Limerick.
On Tuesday, June 17, HUIS was honored to welcome a delegation from Griffith College, including Mr. Kevin Geoghegan, Director of Global Engagement Office; Ms. Tanya Doyle, Head of Faculty, Creative Arts & Screen Media; Mr. Michael Stewart, Student Mobility Manager in the Global Engagement Office; and Mr. Jonathan Kelly, former Market Executive / Enterprise Ireland Japan Office, who has played a key role in connecting our two institutions.
From HUIS, the signing ceremony was attended by President Kei Nakagawa; Vice President Dr. Ishikawa; Dr. Morimoto, Dean of the Faculty of Contemporary Social Studies; Dr. Nashiki, Dean of the Faculty of Human Life Studies; Mr. Yoshimura, Director General of the Administration Bureau; Dr. Hayaoka, Head of the Department of Broadcasting and Media; and Dr. Tabuchi, Chair of the International Exchange Committee. The ceremony was moderated by Mr. Shimizu, Head of the Center for Student Development (CSD) , HUIS.
In her address, President Kei Nakagawa emphasized the significance of international exchange, stating,
“In a world where division and conflict continue to occur, it is more important than ever for young people to engage in mutual understanding that transcends cultural and linguistic differences.”
In response, Mr. Geoghegan remarked,
“This agreement is a concrete step toward that very kind of exchange and will serve as a foundation for further collaboration between our institutions. The video production project currently underway at Hagoromo University by Griffith College students is already a meaningful example of such cooperation.”
With the signing of this student exchange agreement, both universities are now able to promote exchange programs with reduced financial burden for students.
