Application Eligibility
To whom all the following apply:

  1. Applicants are defined as those of foreign nationality who are eligible for a “international student” status of residence under the Immigration Control and Refugee Recognition Law (government ordinance no. 319, 1951).
  2. Those who have completed or are expected to complete a 12-year course in school education abroad by March 31, 2022.Or a person equivalent to these, designated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, or at the University, by individual admission qualification examinationThose who are recognized as having academic ability equal to or higher than those who have graduated from high school.
  3. Those who have the Japanese language proficiency required for studying in Japan (Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) Level 2 or above).

International Students

Application Eligibility
Applicants are defined as those of foreign nationality who are eligible for a “international student” status of residence under the Immigration Control and Refugee Recognition Law (government ordinance no. 319, 1951), who have the Japanese language proficiency required for studying in Japan (Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) Level 1 or above), and to whom one of the following applies:

  1. Those who have completed more than 14 years of school education abroad. Or by March 31, 2022 Those who are expected to finish. Or, a person equivalent to these designated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.
  2. Those who have graduated, or are expected by March 31, 2022 to graduate, from a Japanese university, junior college, or high school (5-year system).
  3. Those who have completed at least 2 years of a 4-year university course in Japan (excluding periods of registered absence).
  4. Those who have completed, or are expected by March 31, 2022 to complete, a vocational school special training course (of at least 2 years’ duration and requiring 1,700 hours or more of classes to complete) .
